The Finno-Ugric Centenary Chess Tournament

Welcome to celebrate the 100 years of Finnish independence at the chess event in Vierumäki in November 17 to 19.

The Finno-Ugric peoples – with teams from Finland, Estonia, Hungary and the Finno-Ugric regions of Russia – play chess together in a friendship match to celebrate the 100 years of Finnish independence.

The three day event will include teams of 25 players from Finland, Estonia and Hungary, and a combined team from the Finno-Ugric regions of Russia. The total of 100 players will perform in an amicable manner, yet they are willing to score points and win in style.

Apart from the friendship match, there will be open tournaments in rapid chess and in blitz as well as in problem solving.

The highlights of the tournament and its side events will be shown on these pages. From the menus above you will find live matches, pictures, results and much more.
