The oldest competitor in our tournament is the Icelandic International Master Einar Hjalti Jensson, who was born in 1980. Jensson secured his title at the 86^th Fide Congress last year. Though his Elo rating has never exceeded 2394, he is a match for anybody on his day, as Latvian high flyer Alexei Shirov discovered to his cost in the second round of the 2014 European Chess Club Cup in Bilbao.
